Today was an English day for me. Because our English class was restarted in Nakanoshima. During this August, our lecturer Mr.Tad went back to USA, so our classes were not scheduled. But, today we were reunion with everyone.
Today's topic was about "economic geography". We discussed a cultural gap between metropolitan area and provincial area by using an article "Geography as destiny for many workers" (web edition "In Climbing Income Ladder, Location Matters") published in July 22th, 2013. By this kind of gap, the American dream has been realized. In other words, provincials should face the gap against urban life, and they have challenged to enrich their own life, daringly.
Through the discussion, Mr.Tad paid an attention about the difference between causation and correlation to us. In short, he asked us that interest in economic disparities and resident area is absolute or relative. In short, he asked us whether the relationship between economic disparity and resident area is absolute or relative. Actually, income mobility is reflected the historical and cultural context in each region, and such characteristics don't change easily. But, sometimes restriction provides us the new way to change our situation.
After the English session, I went to the Outenin-temple to attend the feedback meeting with interns. I found many in their talk. respect and gratitude to the other intern in their story. Their story was full of gratitude and respect to the other interns. Of course, these mutually interact is not envisaged from the start of the intern. So, co-relation is quite an important matter to train each other.
